About the artist
 

David started painting at an early age. David studied illustration and advertising at college and university in design.
After working for many years in design and advertising for many prestigious companies such as Hewlett-Packard, David maintained a hand in fine art works at his home studio. Portraiture soon became all consuming and thus a full time career, now spanning over 15 years.

David's illustrations are first class examples of realism that never fail to impress his wide range of international clients. Since becoming a full time illustrator, David has been involved with many diverse projects and prestigious clients. David works in oil and pastel with the occasional graphite flourish.

David's work is underpinned by sound draughtsmanship and his style is characterized by a realism which draws out the fundamental and distinctive qualities of the subject through the description of light and shade, colour and texture in pastel, graphite or oil

The images David produces are rich and vibrant, and though a degree of realism is always present, his main interest is in creating a sense of mood and atmosphere in his illustrations.

His work is painterly and realistic. Specializing in still life, portraiture and landscape. Not least, he is passionate about art and illustration and gets a real buzz from creating a new piece of art.
